The staff and student of San Lorenzo Ruiz CES will be marking Orange Shirt Day on Wednesday September 30th. On this day, we recognize Canada’s indigenous people, children, and families, impacted by Canada’s Indian Residential Schools Act and the trials faced by our Indigenous population. As Catholics, we often focus on reconciliation; this day marks our commitment to acknowledging that these wrongs should never happen to anyone again. We are asking staff and students to wear something orange on Wednesday. Moreover, we engage in day as a day of healing and celebrating the importance of recognizing that every child has value and every child matters!
